January Disneyland Trip - 1/6 - 1/7/2009

Kayley has 3 weeks off for Christmas Break, so we've been going to Disneyland the last week of break for the past 2 years. Most of the crowds are gone and the lines are short. We decided to stay overnight at the Paradise Pier Hotel this trip much to the disappoint of Chuck and Kayley who think we need to stay at the Grand Californian everytime we go now! I have to admit the Grand is "Grand", but the wallet choose the Pier this trip! Staying at a Disney Hotel is more expensive, but we like the perks - Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday are Magic Mornings - you get into Disneyland an hour early and we like the easy access to the parks from the hotels. We've been wanting to go to a character dining for the past few years, so we decided on Lilo & Stitch's Aloha Breakfast this trip since it was at the Paradise Pier. We had a rough night with Kayley up at 2:00 am throwing up, but we still made our 7:00 am reservation. We lucked out with us being the first reservation and then only 1 other family there. We had the characters almost to ourselves! The rest of the day we had fun at Disneyland and California Adventure. We did our usual rides and shows. One of our favorites is the Drawing Class in Ca Adventure.

The Incredibles

Kayley and Chuck on California Screamin'! Her daddy talked her into going on it again. I had to get them when they went upside down! You will not see this Momma on that ride!

Pluto came over and colored some pictures with her and then walked her out when we left! He's a crazy dog!

Kayley with Minnie and Lilo & Stitch

This was the first time we've seen Daisy - she never comes out!!

A PAIR OF SHOES - AUTHOR UNKNOWN

I am wearing a pair of shoes.
They are ugly shoes.
Uncomfortable shoes.
I hate my shoes.
Each day I wear them, and each day I wish I had another pair.
Some days my shoes hurt so bad that I do not think I can take another step.
Yet, I continue to wear them.
I get funny looks wearing these shoes.
They are looks of sympathy.
I can tell in others eyes that they are glad they are my shoes and not theirs.
They never talk about my shoes.
To learn how awful my shoes are might make them uncomfortable.
To truly understand these shoes you must walk in them.
But, once you put them on, you can never take them off.
I now realize that I am not the only one who wears these shoes. There are many pairs in this world.
Some woman are like me and ache daily as they try and walk in them.
Some have learned how to walk in them so they don't hurt quite as much.
Some have worn the shoes so long that days will go by before they think about how much they hurt.
No woman deserves to wear these shoes.
Yet, because of these shoes I am a stronger woman.
These shoes have given me the strength to face anything.
They have made me who I am.
I will forever walk in the shoes of a woman who has lost a child.
