Is it Summer Already???

The past few days we have been experiencing really WARM weather! We're looking at 80 degree weather today again! Yesterday was beautiful! We spent the afternoon at our friends' house celebrating Parker's 6th b-day. I met Julie at the Farmer's Market several years ago while doing a SU! booth. I didn't get any business from doing it, but we met some great friends! Kayley loves to play with Parker and his brother, Nathan. Here's an old pic of them at the Fish Hatchery. Parker is on the left, then Kayley and Alex is on the right. Wow - when did my little girl grew up? Its hard to remember her so small!

A Busy, Busy Week!

This week flew by! Tuesday I did my usual volunteering in K's class. The kids are so much fun! Sometimes I almost miss teaching -
Thursday it was back to SMILES (mom's bible study) for Kay Arthur's "Lord, Teach Me to Pray". It looks like it will be a great study! I have a great bunch of ladies at my table and an awesome co-leader, Sara.
Thursday was K's first soccer practice with her Under 8 Girl's Team. He seems really nice and she made some new friends already. I knew she was nervous after being with a few of the same kids for 3 years. It was a little lonely not having our usual friends to hang with, but we'll survive. (We miss you Housatchenko's!)
Tonight I'm hosting the Crazy Croppin' Chicks crop in my stamp room! We have 13 crazy croppers coming tonight! I'm ready for a night of fun and scrappin'!
Sat. we have Diana's b-day party and Sunday is Parker's b-day party. So many birthdays this time of year! I'm bummed we won't be able to celebrate with my dad on Monday - HAPPY 72nd BIRTHDAY, HAROLD!
It's time to get back to work - housework, yard work, etc. before K gets home.
Have a great weekend!

A PAIR OF SHOES - AUTHOR UNKNOWN

I am wearing a pair of shoes.
They are ugly shoes.
Uncomfortable shoes.
I hate my shoes.
Each day I wear them, and each day I wish I had another pair.
Some days my shoes hurt so bad that I do not think I can take another step.
Yet, I continue to wear them.
I get funny looks wearing these shoes.
They are looks of sympathy.
I can tell in others eyes that they are glad they are my shoes and not theirs.
They never talk about my shoes.
To learn how awful my shoes are might make them uncomfortable.
To truly understand these shoes you must walk in them.
But, once you put them on, you can never take them off.
I now realize that I am not the only one who wears these shoes. There are many pairs in this world.
Some woman are like me and ache daily as they try and walk in them.
Some have learned how to walk in them so they don't hurt quite as much.
Some have worn the shoes so long that days will go by before they think about how much they hurt.
No woman deserves to wear these shoes.
Yet, because of these shoes I am a stronger woman.
These shoes have given me the strength to face anything.
They have made me who I am.
I will forever walk in the shoes of a woman who has lost a child.
