"WICKED" - We Finally Saw It!

This past Sat night we were able to go down to Hollywood to the Pantages Theater to see "Wicked". We were so excited - we've been talking about wanting to see the show for so long! We got down and parked and had a few hours to waste before the show. We ate at a little place called "Combos" and then tried out "Pinkberry" yogurt. Combos was ok, but the Pinkberry was not like our favorite yogurt shop (NUBI) at all! After our first bite, we all made a yuck face! I guess it was a little too healthy for us all! We had fun going into a vintage/costume shop after the yogurt - it was amazing to see all the old items and costumes they had.

When we got to the theater they were doing the Lottery. I had never heard about it, but it might be something to do some time. They have a limited number of front row orchestra seats for $25. They do it by lottery! I think it picked 6 sets to sell.

The show started at 8:00 pm, so we were all pretty tired by the time it started. I think Kayley might have dozed off for a few minutes, but it was hard to fall asleep with the show going on. It was good and we are waiting for our "Wicked "soundtrack to arrive. I found one on Ebay for about 1/2 the price they were selling them for at the theater. Kayley will be happy to not to have to listen to "Mama Mia!" everyday now! If you haven't seen the show yet, I highly suggest it! Its amazing at how they tie the whole "Wizard of OZ" story together and explain it all!

Check out the Pantages here!

I'm thinking I'm ready for season tickets now! Next year I want to see "Grease", "Mama Mia!", "Dirty Dancing" and "Legally Blonde".

Sept Awards Assembly!!

We were so proud to find out that Kayley was getting the "Scholar's Award" last week at the awards assembly. She was so surprised to see us there. We had to sneak to school after the bus picked up. We even ducked down when we saw her bus coming to school.

Here's a pic of Kayley with some freinds from her class. She's doing so well in school, but is having fun with friends - old and new!

Our Labor Day Disneyland Trip!

We decided to take a day trip down to Disneyland and CA Adventure on Labor Day! The traffic was pretty much non-existent and we got there by 9:00 am. Disneyland wasn't too busy that early either - we waited for Autopia for about 10 minutes - short for that ride! Kayley and I had a great time doing what we wanted and seeing all the characters we could!

WALL-E

We hadn't seen this one at CA Adventure before!

We like to take either the Horse Drawn Trolley or one of the other cars!

A PAIR OF SHOES - AUTHOR UNKNOWN

I am wearing a pair of shoes.
They are ugly shoes.
Uncomfortable shoes.
I hate my shoes.
Each day I wear them, and each day I wish I had another pair.
Some days my shoes hurt so bad that I do not think I can take another step.
Yet, I continue to wear them.
I get funny looks wearing these shoes.
They are looks of sympathy.
I can tell in others eyes that they are glad they are my shoes and not theirs.
They never talk about my shoes.
To learn how awful my shoes are might make them uncomfortable.
To truly understand these shoes you must walk in them.
But, once you put them on, you can never take them off.
I now realize that I am not the only one who wears these shoes. There are many pairs in this world.
Some woman are like me and ache daily as they try and walk in them.
Some have learned how to walk in them so they don't hurt quite as much.
Some have worn the shoes so long that days will go by before they think about how much they hurt.
No woman deserves to wear these shoes.
Yet, because of these shoes I am a stronger woman.
These shoes have given me the strength to face anything.
They have made me who I am.
I will forever walk in the shoes of a woman who has lost a child.
