You Gotta LOVE Fall Break!

Kayley has 2 weeks off for Fall Break! Chuck was supposed to have 3 weeks off, but is going to have to work some days here and there - isn't he dedicated! We were able to get down to Disneyland & California Adventure last Wed and Thursday. Unfortunately, they had record heat on Wed. I heard someone say it was 102! Luckily, Chuck talked me into reserving a room at the Grand Californian for the night! Pass holders get special room rates when they are slow, so we took advantage of it! We had a blast staying there and took advantage of the pool for a few hours to cool off! Thursday was a little warm, but nothing like Wed. The park was only open from 10-8:00, so you know what that means - it won't be busy! You can guage the crowds by the hours they are open! Short hours mean small crowds! Just the way we like it! Oct is one of the best months to visit Disneyland. Thank goodness for Fall Break! I love all the Halloween decorations too!

A picture of us waiting for the Parade of Dreams! Kayley and I love it! We see it every time we go. Chuck doesn't understand why we like it so much! He did have fun embarassing Kayley though by blowing kisses to Ariel (the Little Mermaid) when she went past. She said "You're so silly!" Paradise Pier at California Adventure. Kayley was still too short for the California Screamin' (the big roller coaster that goes upside down in the Mickey ears) Below is a pic of Chuck on it! You will never get me on that one!!

We saw some new characters - one day we'll have a pic with every single one! :)

Like Minnie's Fall outfit?

Goofy in his Ca Adventure outfit!

Captain Hook - she was scared of him at first, but I talked her into a picture with him!!

Chip or Dale - not sure which one!

Grizzly River Rapids kept Chuck and Kayley cool on both days! Mom's still too much of a chicken to go on it. I hate getting my hair all wet too!

Kayley decided to try out the Tower of Terror this trip and loved it! I think they went on it 5 times between both days. Below is one of the pics they take while on the ride.

Ca Adventure is decorated with a Candy Corn theme during Oct.

Me and my 2 favorite characters!

I took LOTS of pics of the Grand Californian! I just about had a panic attach making the reservation because of the cost, but we had a great time and it was nice to see how the other half lives. It was super convenient being able to go right into Ca Adventure and Downtown Disney from the hotel and Thursday was a early day at Disneyland (hotel guests get to get in an hour earlier!) The hotel is definitely a place to see and stay at if you can.

This was the door of the front entrance. It took forever for me to get a pic of it - didn't people know I wanted a pic of it closed.
The view from our balcony!

Kayley having fun in the lobby! She wanted to stay another week!

A PAIR OF SHOES - AUTHOR UNKNOWN

I am wearing a pair of shoes.
They are ugly shoes.
Uncomfortable shoes.
I hate my shoes.
Each day I wear them, and each day I wish I had another pair.
Some days my shoes hurt so bad that I do not think I can take another step.
Yet, I continue to wear them.
I get funny looks wearing these shoes.
They are looks of sympathy.
I can tell in others eyes that they are glad they are my shoes and not theirs.
They never talk about my shoes.
To learn how awful my shoes are might make them uncomfortable.
To truly understand these shoes you must walk in them.
But, once you put them on, you can never take them off.
I now realize that I am not the only one who wears these shoes. There are many pairs in this world.
Some woman are like me and ache daily as they try and walk in them.
Some have learned how to walk in them so they don't hurt quite as much.
Some have worn the shoes so long that days will go by before they think about how much they hurt.
No woman deserves to wear these shoes.
Yet, because of these shoes I am a stronger woman.
These shoes have given me the strength to face anything.
They have made me who I am.
I will forever walk in the shoes of a woman who has lost a child.
